Planted today at 3pm. I think that it's the third one planted in AZ after Todd and Neil's. :)
Roots are super healthy. I put a few shovels of compost in the bottom of the hole. From the image you can see that not all of the vegetable matter has been broken down as compost yet. Worms still have some work to do on it.
Ran a 6 emitter irrigation ring doubled over around the tree. At 0.5 GPH per emitter that's 3 GPH.
The tree is a single whip. I've planted it in the shade of a very large mesquite tree. I don't know how much of the Arizona sun it will be able to handle so might also put up shade cloth on the west side once we hit the 100s.

Still growing vertically and no sign of any branches coming out of the sides.

Sprayed the listed trees with Copper Fungicide. I noticed rust on the Royal Crimson 6GM25 so that got sprayed and then as a preventative the other cherries next to it got sprayed. Also all the grapes in the back yard seem to have something that's turning the leaves brown that could be fungal that might be helped by this so they all got sprayed as well.

The Minne Royal (on the left) and the Royal Crimson (on the far right) are getting shade from the Mesquites at 10am today. The Minnie Royal is looking pretty badly beat up of the four cherries in this area and possible that it doesn't make it to the end of the summer.
- The height has changed by 2" over the last 36 days.
- The girth has changed by 0" over the last 36 days.

This is what the tree looked like before the height was reduced to allow it to be protected. Leaves are sun burned.

Cut the tree to the same height as the Minnie Royal to make the vertical growth easier to compare when they start growing again. This is the shade cloth over the tree.

Even though we've had rains and there's been shade cloth on this it is looking dead. Marking it as dead as of today. If there is new growth then I'll remove the dead status.

Changed the status of this from dead to alive as I've just spotted some new growth on it.
